For my boyfriend’s 30th I took him on a surprise getaway to Santa Barbara. I have stayed at the Kimpton Aurora in Sedona and was absolutely blown away. I decided to try the Kimpton Goodland in Goleta and was incredibly impressed. I love that Kimptons are all so different. They have another Kimpton in Downtown Santa Barbara that is more classic and upscale. We loved how much character the Goodland has. You feel like you are driving up to a vintage southwestern motor lodge. They had free yoga by the pool in the morning and a fantastic restaurant on site. They even have 2 bars and a pool table.
The first thing we were taken aback by was the incredible lobby. It is literally the cutest room I have ever been in. We were invited back for free wine hour and enjoyed a delicious red and white before going to the bar for cocktails and then into SB for dinner.
Last week I got to spend 5 days in North Lake Tahoe at Northstar California skiing! It was man amazing trip, an early celebration of my boyfriend’s 30th (happy birthday, Nick)!
We stayed at the Ritz Tahoe which was an absolute luxury because it was ski in, so we didn’t have to lug our skis to the mountain (my least favorite part of skiing ;))!
I lived in NYC and I miss it everyday! My favorite time to go back to visit is right before the holidays. It is SO MAGICAL!
The first highlight of our New York City trip, was our amazing hotel! We stayed at the New York Edition, and it was absolutely wonderful. It is in the old clocktower building in the flatiron district right on Madison Square Park. I used to live in Chelsea, so it was great to stay so close to all my old favorite spots!
I adore this location because it is away from the chaos of Times Square but still close enough to walk everywhere you need to be!
Things you can’t miss in the flatiron:
- Eataly- The amazing Italian market
- Shake shack- The only outdoor shake shack
- Madison square park
- Union Sqare park- Just a few blocks down
- And walk west to get to the amazing Highline!

When we sat down at the beginning of the year, we both realized how much we take living in California for granted. Not only do we live in an amazing state, our city, Los Angeles, Read more
