Winter Wonderland Getaway

Last week I got to spend 5 days in North Lake Tahoe at Northstar California skiing! It was man amazing trip, an early celebration of my boyfriend’s 30th (happy birthday, Nick)!

We stayed at the Ritz Tahoe which was an absolute luxury because it was ski in, so we didn’t have to lug our skis to the mountain (my least favorite part of skiing ;))!

We had beautiful weather except for the first ski day which was very wet and snowy but that meant we had amazing fresh powder the rest of the weekend and these beautiful clouds the afternoon after the snow stopped.

Northstar has a special champagne toast at the top of the mountain at 2pm with warm fire pits and beanbags set up. Its a great way to re-energize for the last 2 hours of skiing!

The Ritz was amazing. The rooms were like having your own ski condo. The hotel had a lovely restaurant right in the lobby with great food and drinks for after skiing. We also went into Truckie for dinner which is the absolute cutest town. AMAZING restaurants and shops there as well.

After Tahoe we went to Reno (where we flew out of). Reno was SO much fun. We got to visit my friend Sydney who works on a Farm called Urban Roots. Its a wonderful organization that focuses on educating children in the area about how to grow healthy, sustainable food. This is me with their smallest chicken, Boo Boo.

The kids at the farm made this amazing mosaic on one of the farm buildings!

Reno is a city with a lot of character. There are so many new healthy restaurants to check out if you visit Reno. We loved the food, cocktails and the active lifestyle the city has to offer. Everyone rides bikes and goes up to the mountains to hike!

Our trip to Tahoe was a success. I recommend skiing Northstar and checking out Truckie if you plan to visit!
