Your DIET Can Prevent CANCER

I hate the C word.

Cancer.

While we as a society are very good about educating people on how to detect different types of cancer and promote how to help find a cure, we are missing out on the bigger picture.  This month is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness & Education. There is also Cervical Cancer Awareness Month (January), Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September), & Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (November).  I am in support of all of these types of campaigns to educate the masses. I just feel like something is missing.

What is it?

We never focus on how to PREVENT cancer in the first place.  What is the best way to do that?  It all starts with what you are eating.
Some of the biggest guidelines to eating to help prevent cancer include choosing things that help you maintain a healthy weight, whole grains, limited amounts of red meat & eating at LEAST 2.5 cups of fruits and veggies daily.  The slogan, “Eat the Rainbow”, will remind you to help protect yourself against cancer.
