WCW: Cassandra Jean

Why we are crushing on Cassandra Jean…cassandra

This girl does it all. She’s an actress, wife, mother & wine connoisseur. Cassandra has also been one of our favorite people to follow on social media for quite a while (@cassandrapants).  She is HILARIOUS and is truthful and vocal on what she believes; and we love that.

On top of being just awesome, Cassandra is a kick-ass business woman. She is co-owner of a successful winery called Nocking Point. She is also a partner in two new restaurants opening this fall in Silverlake, California.

If you want to check out her acting stuff and see what she’s got in the works, check her out on IMDB.

What type of activities do you do to stay fit?

Lots! Variety is so key with me. I easily get bored doing the same thing all the time. Some of my favorites in my rotation are HIIT or Circuit Training, Yoga, Power Pilates (SPX), and Cycling.

What do you think is the key to a healthy lifestyle?

Diet, diet, diet. Most health issues can be cured with food! It’s so easy to fall into poor eating choices because of travel, busy schedules, laziness…we are all guilty of it at some point, so the best thing is to really be conscious of it, while recognizing and appreciating when we are making great choices.
What’s your favorite asset?

My butt! I love that it’s got some volume to it. I accepted that I will never have a small butt a long time ago, so instead of trying to make it smaller, I work to make it strong, tight, and toned.
What is your LEAST favorite workout? But why do you still do it?
Running. It is such a basic skill and crucial to being fit, not to mention one of the best natural workouts our bodies were meant to do. Plus, it’s super convenient to do almost anywhere with no equipment, which is helpful when you travel as much as I do. A good playlist (Tiesto!) helps get over the “I am not enjoying myself” mental attitude.
If you had to choose any healthy meal or snack what would it be?

My favorite go to is spaghetti squash with homemade bolognese sauce. Packed with protein, healthy fats, and low carb, plus loaded with vitamins and nutrients. It’s so satisfying because you really do feel like you’re eating a heaping bowl of pasta, but with way less calories, refined carbs, and sugars. I always make sure to use super clean meat. I’m a big believer that clean meat (hormone and antibiotic free, grass fed, sustainably raised) is the best fuel source for your body, especially if you’re very active or building muscle.

We all have cheat days, what’s your poison?

Cookies. Big time. I try to either bake them myself or go to a local bakery. I believe artificial sweeteners, additives, and preservatives are the worst things you can put in your body. By eating something locally and freshly baked, you’re cutting way down on the processed byproducts. Plus, it’s so much more delicious- especially if it’s still warm!!!

What inspires you to be healthy and active?

I think life should be lived. I love wine and tequila, as well big dinners out with friends. Exercising regularly and making healthy day to day choices allows me to do those things without giving it a second thought. Balance is so important, and that’s my way of doing it.

If you could give girls any advice about loving their bodies what would you say?

Strong is the new skinny! Know that your exact body type is one in a million, so do what works for you- that super fit swimsuit model probably wishes she had a butt like yours 😉

Here's some more posts you might like!

  1. I love everything about her! I honestly don’t know how she does what she does. She seems so busy and on the go constantly, but she looks awesome and has a great system that works for her. Maybe she’ll do more of this and get her name out there for young moms and wives. She has a real message that I think is applicable for alot of women.

  2. Really enjoyed this post – there loads of encouraging messages in there that I’ve thought about several times since reading this for the first time last week; about making great choices when eating, getting out there and doing exercise you enjoy and appreciating yourself and your body and making sure to have a good time in the process!

I hear you Cassandra about the running! There’s a fun app called ‘Zombie Run’ that turns it into a story / game, and helps take my mind off the actual running bit, thinking you’re running away from zombies helps!

Hope to hear from Cassandra again!
