Sweating is GROSS but so BENEFICIAL

Sweating is an essential part of working out.  Your body gets hot from the physical exertion and the mechanism it uses to cool itself off is sweat.  Sweating isn’t fun or glamorous; its actually pretty gross.  But there are SO many benefits of getting a good sweat on while you work out.  The most important being: if you sweat you are working hard enough to burn fat.  That, in my book, is a WIN!  But if thats not enough to let yourself get down and dirty 3-5 times a week, maybe these benefits of sweating will help.

1. It makes you happy

Sweating boosts endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Remember the deciding factor in Elle Woods case for Brooke Taylor Windham (Ali Larter) in Legally Blonde?!
2. It releases the bad toxins
Toxins are what make us sick. But, you don’t always have to be sick to have bad toxins.  You can have toxins in your body and not have any negative effects at the moment. Sweating is your body’s way of getting rid of toxins we have put into our body, have been created internally and have been created through our emotions. So if you are super emotional at the moment (which was  me last week), exercising and sweating it out is the best medicine.
3. It helps you not get sick
Sweating releases toxins naturally to prevent you getting sick. So, if you feel a little under the weather, the best thing to do is go sweat it out. If you feel too sick to workout, at least try and make it to a sauna or sit outside and get your sweat on.
4.  It helps you gain clear and healthy skin
This is another one that people seem to get wrong.  They think working out makes them break out; which it truly might do in the beginning. But, in the end, sweating actually opens up your pores and lets the bad toxins escape.  If you can get through the first week of working out you will find clean and clear skin will follow.
Don’t let sweating stop you from working hard to get to the place that you want for yourself.   Set your fitness goals and work every day to achieve them.  Everyday you are one step closer and everyday it gets easier.  If you aren’t going to be strong for yourself no one else is.   Happy Sweating!
