The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. You get to hang out with your friends & family, eat BBQ and show your love for the great US of A.
Figuring out what to wear to a BBQ is pretty tough and I find the solution to always be: minimal. That includes my own beauty routine. This is my current beauty routine when I want a minimal yet refreshing look.
1. Sunscreen + Foundation
BB Cream. I’m obsessed with this product. I got it in my birchbox (click link to check it out) last year and have used it ever since. It’s an SPF 25 foundation. When you put it on, it feels extremely light and covers any discoloring or blemishes; but, it’s still light enough to not cover my little Irish freckles. You won’t sweat it off or have that caked-on foundation look.
2. A little pink on your cheeks
I love blush! I naturally have a pink undertone in my skin so I usually brush on just a tiny bit. Right now I’m loving this blush. It’s a subtle baby pink color.
3. Define your brows
This is something I just started doing in January and I don’t know why someone didn’t tell me it would change my world. Color in your brows! When I say that, I don’t mean color them in so dark that they look fake. What I do mean is shape them and color in the little areas that aren’t perfect. Right now, I’m crushing on the MAC eyebrow pencils.
I’m definitely a supporter of CoverGirl mascara. I haven’t found any other brands that define and separate my lashes like lash blast does.
5. Tinted lip balm
Lip color is so important. I know many women are afraid of color or think that it doesn’t look good on them. Just own it! I promise you can. A little bit of color on your lips can make your look go from tired to glamorous. Just dab a little on and you will be on your way.
That’s it! It’s the perfect routine for minimal makeup. It’s great for your 4th of July BBQ, post gym errand running and even a day at the beach.
We hope you all have a fantastic 4th of July. Please be safe and don’t drink & drive. Take an Uber!
